| Marble Services
Diamond Refinishing- Removes fine and deep scratches in the marble. Using different metal or resin grits (i.e. diamond pads) the marble is grinded to a smooth even finish
Polishing- Using mulitple products and procedures depending on the stone, this process gives the marble it's luster.
Sealing- Using 511 impregnator (the leading stone sealer on the market) we seal all marble. This preserves the life of the marble tremendously, and prevents future damage.
Honing- Also used to remove scratches this process (most commonly used with limestone) gives the marble a smooth low luster finish, and removes any shine around the edges of the marble.
Repair- Using only the best epoxy (Akemi) and an array of different tints, we fill all holes and match the feel and look of the marble. Many companies will use grout to fill holes; THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT WAY TO FILL HOLES. Grout will stand out from the marble and will get dirty very quickly. When an epoxy is used it looks as though the marble was never damaged and is smooth and even to the marble. Rx Marble has never and will never use grout in the repairing of holes.
Lippage removal- We level uneven marble left from installation. Many times Marble tiles are higher in one area than another, this is known as lippage. We remove this by grinding down the areas.
Re-grouting- We remove all of the old grout and replace it with a color of the customers choice. (over 25 colors to choose from)
Cleaning- Using intense cleaners specifically made for marble and a scrub brush attachment, all marble is left spotless.
Stripping- In some cases wax has been applied to the stone. This is detrimental not only the look of your stone but the life of it as well. The wax covers the marble making it impossible for the stone to breath. If wax is on the floor no other service will be able to be done without it's removal. Using a stripper, all wax is stripped clean, and the marble can breath.
Tile Services
Cleaning– The tile is cleaned using an array of chemicals designed for grout and tile. Once chemicals set and penetrate dirt, we remove it with a tile scrubbing brush and commercial floor machine
Grout Staining- Old and dingy grout is painted (after it is cleaned) with a special grout stain, reducing the expense of replacing the tile by a significant amount.(over 25 colors to choose from)
Repair- Replace cracked or chipping tiles and injection of hollow or buckling tiles.
Mexican Tile- Strip Mexican tile down to remove all previous sealer and finish. Scrub the grout and tile with high intensity cleaner. The grout can then be stained to provide it with a brand new look Finally it is sealed and given either a matte of high finish
Terrazo
Terrazzo is similar to marble it is made from an epoxy mixed with marble chips or sometimes seashells or even colored plastic chips. Some Terrazzo floors were covered with carpet and now with Terrazzo coming back in stile the carpets are coming off. The Problem with this is nails along the base board use to hold the carpet in place are creating holes in the Terrazzo when removed. Stains are also a big problem with Terrazzo. We solve this by:
•Diamond refinishing to level the floor, remove scratches, and resurface the terrazzo from that old and faded top layer.
•Remove any stains present
•Polish floor if a high shine is desired
•Fill in any holes with matching color marble ships and epoxy.
